my favourite london wedding venues, part one - rosewood
Where it comes to London, you are spoilt for choice. I think it’s one of the best cities to get married (apart maybe from NY) - whether it’s summer or winter - there’s an incredible amount of places to choose from. It’s a grey January now, so let me focus on winter. Imagine festive lights everywhere, the smell of honey-roasted nuts and mulled wine. Stunning hotels and town halls, cosy bars (an old-fashioned, anyone?) and if you’re lucky - a bit of snow.
I have many favourite London wedding venues, after all - I’m a London wedding photographer :-) And one of the many magnificent Central London venues is The Rosewood Hotel - an urban oasis with sophisticated atmosphere, perfect if you plan a luxury London wedding. As a lux wedding photographer I just love Rosewood! Once I left my camera charger in their dining room and when it was returned to me, it came back with a selection of candies, just to sweeten the whole procedure. That’s how caring they are there! (not to mention their amazing spa on site and of course the Scarfes Bar - a famous London bar where you can relax and forget about the whole world, while listening to some live jazz. With whiskey :-)
So, having said all of that, you can imagine my excitement when Hannah, after 3 postponements, told me that their new wedding venue would be Rosewood. Right before Christmas! I have shot there before, but haven’t been back for a while - it was like meeting an old, elegant friend after a long separation (well, the pandemic world we are living in now.. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about!)
Rosewood event manager has helped Hannah immensely (as I mentioned, they have to postpone 3 times so the whole process had the potential to be extremely stressful) and when I arrived at the hotel to meet the wedding squad and photograph the getting ready moments - everyone was happy and calm. The staff was checking if we have enough champagne every now and then, the gorgeous Pronovias gown waiting for Hannah to be ready, the hair and make up artists working their magic (I’ll list the vendors working on this lux London wedding at the bottom of the article, have a look, they are worth chatting to!)
Have a look at Hannah’s getting ready photos:
Weddings at Rosewood are meticulously planned and executed and couples from around the globe choose it as their London wedding venue. I really know why! It has magical interiors (and a few salons to choose from, depending on your wedding size. Charlie and Hannah’s was quite an intimate affair, so their guests dined at the Living Room. It was like dining at home, but with beautiful furniture, amazing waiting staff and food from out of this world. Also - there was a harpist present, which gave the celebrations exquisit atmosphere.
If you want to discuss getting married in London, or ask me about my other favourite London wedding venues - do drop me a line, I’m always happy to help! (I’ve got years of experience as a wedding photographer, not only in London, but all around the globe) Here’s my contact page
And in the meantime - Hannah is ready, let’s go with her to Chelsea Town Hall and see her exchanging her vows. Speaking of Town Halls - here’s my article about ISLINGTON TOWN HALL, another one of my favourites.
After that we will be back at the Rosewood to CELEBRATE, EAT AND PARTY
ok, back to the Rosewood now!
I hope these few photos persuaded you to consider London as your urban wedding location. I know a lot of London winter wedding venues, but I’m sure you can see how special The Rosewood is?
