British countryside wedding

A secret garden wedding of Sarah and Ollie was a dream - imagine the afternoon light flickering through the trees, early summer sun, kids running around, street food vans and unlimited Aperol Spritz. English countryside (this is Essex, but could really be anywhere from Kent to Oxfordshire) is a perfect wedding location (you just need a plan B in case of rain! Here the plan B was a massive marquee, but because the day was literally bathed in sunshine, most of the reception happened under the sky)

Sarah looked stunning in her romantic, yet contemporary wedding dress by Eva Lendel and Ollie’s black tie was a perfect match.

Essex countryside wedding - the bride and groom kiss in the early summer evening light

Ok, let me tell you a bit more about this seriously dreamy countryside garden wedding in Essex! It was like stepping into a fashion magazine shoot, but with lovely friends and family (the great grandma started the party!). The venue was a hidden gem tucked away in the countryside, and the gardens were an explosion of colours and scents of an early British summer (it was June). The couple was the epitome of modern style, and their outfits were romantic, yet contemporary! They oozed the elegance and romance of a Pre-Raphaelite painting. The light was to die for (my photographer’s eye was delighted!) and to keep things a bit more relaxed Sarah and Ollie had street food trucks serving pizza and hot dogs!

It wasn’t my first Essex wedding, nor it was my first outdoor wedding, but Sarah and Ollie’s June celebrations were so distinctly gorgeous, the images will live in my brain rent free for a long time. I can still hear the birds and children laughter.

The whole ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by rolling hills and nature's serenade. It was unreal, with the sunset light flickering through the trees. As an editorial Essex wedding photographer, I felt like a kid in a candy store – so many beautiful moments to capture! From the flowers to the little details that popped up everywhere, you could tell this was a day planned with love and style in mind. I'm still buzzing with excitement from being a part of such a fabulous countryside wedding!
