Editorial wedding PHOTOGRAPHY at Trinity Buoy Wharf

So why do I love this wedding venue? I’m sure you will see why in the photos below, but let me explain it with words too :-) Trinity Buoy Wharf is the best wedding venue in London, if you’re looking for a bit quirky (in a good sense!), filled with light and a spacious place to celebrate your nuptials. It has lots of space inside (the gigantic photo studio kind of vibe - you can fill it with whatever you want), but it also has the best outside space - sun chairs to look at the river, while you’re having a cocktail after the ceremony, a lighthouse to look at and even visit, the gorgeous view at East London - it feels very London, but also a bit New York, if you ask me.

about trinity buoy wharf

Located in the heart of London's Docklands, Trinity Buoy Wharf is an iconic area with a truly fascinating history (did you know that it used to be Michael Faraday's workshop?). The area now is charmingly eclectic, with an uber cool vibe - with artists studios, elegant workspaces, boats, and even a 50s style diner. Shipping containers sit beside boats and cafes and you can watch boats sail past on the Thames. There's even a sound installation featuring Tibetan Singing Bowls that's been playing continuously for 20 years! You can do a couple’s session overlooking the river, or in the lighthouse (or both) and it’s really, uniquely Trinity Buoy :-) Shall we have a look at the wedding I photographed there in the spring?

Olivia and Ben wanted a good party-kind-of-a-wedding, where all of their friends and families would have fun, cocktails and of course a good dance-off. So there were games outside, a brass band inside, a ceremony with the door open to the river and sun. We had tears and laughter and everything was gorgeous in the beautiful spring sun. Olivia was wearing a stunning Jesus Peiro wedding dress (with a story attached to it - she had to be covered in a huge blanket while arriving at the venue, so that no one could see her)

Here’s some practical details for you, about Trinity Buoy:

-it’s a dry hire venue

-it can accommodate up to 700 guests (yeah!)

-they offer full planning services and on site wedding day coordination

-it’s not residential so it’s perfect for a late night party :-)

Lets have a look at some more photos!

TRINITY BUOY WHARF WEDDING CEREMONY and reception OPTIONS

There are two spaces to get you married at the Trinity Buoy Wharf: The Chain Store and the Electricians Shop. Both are unique and gorgeous, one is bigger than the other - The Chain Store can fit up to 700 guests, while the Electricians Shop - up to 200. The Electricians shop is quite dark and would work well for a winter wedding. I wholeheartedly recommend the Chain Store - it’s so spacious, filled with light and bright - I love it, it’s a photographer’s dream (Olivia and Ben got married in the Chain Store, with the huge door wide open)

You could even exchange your vows on the boat and then arrive at the Trinity for your wedding reception. Or you can get married at St. Paul’s Cathedral, jump on the boat with your guests (cocktails on the boat, yeah!) and joyfully arrive at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Options are almost endless for a fun, summer wedding in London.

Now, in terms of a dream reception at this stunning venue - I think street food works so well here! Seafood or pizza, baby! Olivia and Ben had a catering team camping outside of the venue and it worked very well (they had an Italian sharing plates kind of the feast) I would also highly recommend having a wedding planner for your day.
