Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding

I have shot many weddings in the classic and chic Old Marylebone Town Hall, most in the summer, but today I’ve got a winter treat for you - Lara and Gus!

probably the most romantic town hall in London - the Old Marylebone Town Hall

Lara and Gus planned a gorgeous, Christmas wedding in December - the ceremony in the grand Westminster Room, followed by a reception in a beautifully decorated Amadeus, located in Maida Vale. The magician, who transformed the reception venue was the one and only Zuza from the Whole Lotta Love Weddings (all the suppliers links are at the bottom) - there were flowers, candles, a Christmas tree (of course!), golden streamers and a disco ball.

But we’ll get there, let’s start from the beginning:

getting ready

Lara and Gus decided to get ready separately, Lara surrounded by her bridesmaids and Gus - his friends and best men. There were a lot of giggling involved and the atmosphere at both locations was pretty chill and full of excitement.

And then we all met the

Old Marylebone Town Hall

Before I skip to the photos, let me tell you a few things about the Old Marylebone Town Hall. It’s grand, it’s iconic, it’s romantic in the timeless and elegant kind of way. I photograph a lot of weddings there every summer, it’s definitely one of my most favourite town halls in London - it’s so photogenic and stunning, but also - the people working there, the registrars and all the staff - they are just so lovely and welcoming. They really want your wedding to be the best!

Did you know that a lot of celebrities chose this town hall too? Yep, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Wood, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith were all married at the Old Marylebone Town Hall!

Ok, some facts for you: it’s located in the heart of London, easy to get into by a vintage car or tube (Marylebone station is just a few steps away). It’s surrounded by elegant, little streets, just perfect to take a photographic stroll around, after your ceremony. Inside you can find a few different ceremony rooms: The Westminster, the Pimlico Room, the Soho Room, the Mayfair Room. Lara and Gus opted for the biggest and most stylish one: the Westminster Room. It has 100 seats for the guests and beautiful wood panelling that just work so well in photos. Here’s some Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding photography for you:

and now, the reception

After the ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, the couple headed to the reception. The Amadeus, quite a unique venue in Maida Vale is a dry hire venue and kind of a black canvas which you can turn into the wedding of your dreams. It’s a walking distance from London’s Little Venice (we went there for some more couple photos, it was really chilly but the sunset has made it all worth it!) and very easy to get to, via cars, trains and tube (Paddington station is not far) It used to be a Presbyterian chapel and it has this vibe of seeing a lot of tears of joy in the past. And what Zuza did there - it was pure Christmas magic. Have a look!
