intimate wedding at the barbican
Barbican has always been at the absolute top of my London wedding venues list. I just love Barbican, I remember when I first came to live in London (16 years ago, what?!) and explored its many, many great cultural centres and the Barbican just blew my mind! I mean - it’s a flats complex, but with the cinemas, a great library (did you know it has the biggest selection of books on art, design and cinema?), musical hall, theatre and an awesome art gallery. Add to that a restaurant (or, actually - two), wonderful gardens and its own conservatory that looks like a lush, tropical paradise. And all of it in the middle of the city! I mean - a city life does not get better than that. I repeat - it doesn't not!
My dream is to one day live in one of these flats… (yeah, I can dream!) The only danger would be that I would literally not go anywhere else. You’ve got everything you need in the Barbican. And to top that - you can also get married there!! Yes, the Barbican is a wedding venue and you can absolutely get married there. Have a look here: A Barbican wedding for all the necessary info.
The dream Barbican wedding would be: a conservatory for the ceremony (ideally with the humanist celebrant, as they fit the Barbican perfectly, believe me!), some amazing couple shots afterwards (with your favourite London editorial wedding photographer, of course:), while your guests sip champagne among the lush plants and flowers of the conservatory. Later - the wedding breakfast - they have a special Garden Room for that, with floor to ceiling windows and their own, delicious catering. Then, of course - dancing. Gosh, I would never get bored of shooting in Barbican!
