How to plan an intimate wedding in italy

When Nadia and Joe decided to tie the knot, they knew they wanted something different. No big wedding, no guests they hardly knew, and definitely no drama. They wanted a small, intimate ceremony that would reflect their love for each other and the stunning natural beauty of Italy. (They got engaged in Italy, so the location of their wedding was not a coincidence!)

So, they set off to the picturesque town of Lake Como, with its magnificent mountains and crystal-clear waters. There, amidst the awe-inspiring landscape, the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows in an outdoor ceremony that was nothing short of magical.

Nadia, in her flowing ivory dress, looked like a dream against the backdrop of the sparkling lake, and Joe, in his dapper navy suit, beamed with joy. As they exchanged their rings, the water lapping against the shore and the birds singing in the background created the most romantic atmosphere.

After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with a few close friends who had flown in for the occasion. They enjoyed a leisurely lunch at a picturesque restaurant that overlooked the lake, relishing the best-in-the-world Italian cuisine and local wine.

My task as their wedding photographer was to capture not only the joy in Nadia and Joe’s faces, but also the lanscape, the atmosphere of an old Italian movie (Fellini, anyone?) and the uniqueness of their wedding. That’s why I shot half digital and half on film, but let’s talk about it later. The day ended with a boat ride around the lake, where the group enjoyed the stunning sunset views.

In the end, Nadia and Joe's elopement in Lake Como was nothing short of perfect. It was a day filled with love, laughter, breathtaking scenery, and above all, the promise of forever. The couple had found a unique and fun way to celebrate their love, and their story has set the bar high for anyone considering an elopement in the romantic and intimate atmosphere of Lake Como.

Enrich your soul with a true Italian experience by indulging in various customary delights such as local food, wine, fashion, music and art. What else can I tell you about the experience of eloping in Italy? You may be thinking about the money? (I know I would) Here’s the whole truth: The myth that a destination wedding in Italy is a pricey affair is broken when you realize that an intimate wedding in a foreign country can cost you much less. With fewer guests and a focus on customization, the overall cost is notably reduced compared to a wedding in your hometown. Tie the knot with extravagance, without breaking the bank. It’s possible, I promise.
