Luxury London wedding at The Ned

Jade and Dan initially planned to elope in London - lovers of London architecture and design, they planned to stay at The Ned and have an intimate ceremony, just them and witnesses. However, closer to the date they realised that they actually wanted their closest people to celebrate with them. So - the beautifully curated London elopement became an intimate wedding and I think it was a great decision! Of course, their favourite hotel in London was still at the centre of the celebrations, but now we also had the Landmark added for the cocktail reception and the touching ceremony took place in the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall.

This gorgeous wedding ticked all my architectural boxes, I just love London so much I could photograph it everyday and never get bored! And especially the city of London area, with its grand buildings, iconic hotels and bars (The Ned being the finest example!)

Is The Ned one of the best London luxury wedding venues?

There’s no discussion :-) It certainly is! Let’s see a few pictures first and they I’ll explain with words why this iconic city hotel is indeed the best London wedding venue.

Elegant London wedding venue

The Ned, located in the heart of London, stands as one of the most iconic and distinguished hotels in the world. Housed within the grandeur of a sensitively restored historic building, it's not your run-of-the-mill place; it's got this perfect mix of old-school charm and modern swank. A perfect mixture of the past grandeur, with the contemporary luxury gives the air of timeless elegance and undeniable charm. But it's not just a pretty face – The Ned has a bunch of amazing restaurants, sophisticated bars with life jazz, and even a rooftop pool that's off the charts. The rooms are perfect for the before-the-wedding getting ready moments and it’s Salon is made for beautiful ceremonies. Did I mention you can almost touch St.Paul’s Cathedral from its terrace?

urban London wedding

I love a city wedding - the architecture, the black cabs, the sophisticated cocktails, the black tie. Jade and Dan wanted exactly that. And they wanted an editorial London photographer to capture the essence of the day. So they contacted me :-) I’m based in London and even though I shoot a lot of destination weddings, it’s the London weddings that are my favourite (and not only because I can take a cab to work, instead of a plane, hahaha. And come back to my own bed!) I know every corner (I’ve been living in London for the past 20 years!), I know the town halls, the hotels, the charming small streets and nooks.

Old Marylebone Town Hall ceremony

Even though you can have your ceremony at The Ned itself, Jade and Dan chose to exchange their vows at the ironing Old Marylebone Town Hall, mostly because of the size of their wedding (they had 18 guests, just the closest and dearest). It was a wise choice, the Old Marylebone is stunning and a great company for the after the ceremony drinks at the Landmark Hotel, before the couple and their guests moved back to The Ned for their reception dinner. Quintessential London, isn’t it? Let’s have a look at the few photos from their intimate ceremony at the town hall. And the confetti shot on the iconic stairs, of course!

the beautiful couple and their dream London wedding

Jade and Dan have been together for 7 years when they decided they really wanted a wedding. Well, an elopement, initially. And that’s when they contacted me, expressing their love for design, architecture and editorial photography. They wanted me to capture their luxurious London wedding in a timeless, elegant and editorial style. I took them for a walk in the city of London area, captured their getting ready moments at The Ned, the first look with Jade’s father (ah, I love the happy tears and the calm wedding mornings, with champagne and the growing excitement), the touching ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall and the cocktail hour, together with the speeches at the Landmark Hotel, just round the corner from the town hall. I really like smaller weddings, where I feel like part of the family and I’m able to chat with everyone. When the couple is surrounded by love and everyone knows each other so well, the internal jokes run around and make everyone happy cry. Oh yes, there were tears, there was champagne (lots!) and what’s most important - there was no rush, no super stretched schedule. The day was calm, beautiful and filled with joy.

Did I mention I love architecture? :-) The one and only Landmark Hotel, walking distance from the Old Marylebone Town Hall and a wonderful option for the post-ceremony cocktails.
